    Completely contrary to popular belief, retirement planning is actually for everybody, at any age. Ideally, as soon as one starts earning her/his own money – which today can be as young an age as 18 if you think of new age careers like social media creators, one should start planning for renewment. Renewing one’s life is a decision and the freedom that allows one to renew her/his life comes from planning in advance.
    I would say, the earlier one starts the better. They say, compounding is the 8th wonder of the world. So the earlier you start, the longer you can benefit from the power of compounding.
    Usually people avoid retirement planning in their early lives as that seems like a very faraway goal. Nothing could be further from the truth as there is no fixed age to renew one’s life.

    Many people think planning for retirement during one’s student life is too early. I would however suggest otherwise. In fact, renewment planning has no age. Even if someone feels that student life is too early or a little premature, as soon as one gets into working life, one should plan.
    The ‘early accumulation’ phase – basically, where one starts building his/her money in the early stages of the career, is a very crucial phase to begin planning for renewing one’s life.

    It would be too philosophical to say start your “Retirement Planning” the day you draw your first salary. We as human beings are emotional and would have expenses connected to these emotions;

    1. Be it thanking our parents with a pricey gift

    2. A well thought through gift to the best teacher who shaped us to be an achiever

    3. We might also want to upgrade your wardrobe, official accessories and a vehicle for mobility (be it a bike or a small car).

    So, please for sure spend some money on the above emotional requirements and maybe say when you are about 3 to 5 years into your earning life, start your retirement planning. That is the crux of renewment thinking. Since you would be quite young, please use Equity as an asset class to accumulate wealth.

    The fact remains, starting early helps to achieve your retirement corpus with ease. There is never a wrong time to start thinking of renewment.
